Pure Evoke Flow internet radio

  by (pocket-lint.com) - Aug, 2008

Is this the device to propel internet radio into the home?

The Pure Evoke Flow is launched at a time where more and more manufacturers are getting into the internet radio market. Its offering on the hardware front, as we've come to expect from Pure Digital, is second to none.

The Pure Digital Evoke Flow combines a DAB and FM radio with Wi-Fi and streaming technology ensuring users aren't tied to a PC if they want to enjoy internet radio.

We are very impressed with the Pure Evoke Flow. It's easy to use, offers a huge number of functions and is value-for-money to boot.

Pure Evoke Flow review

  by (techworld.com) - Jan, 2011

I'm old enough to have fond memories of portable radios. These weren't the large-juice-box-sized transistor radios that accompanied kids during the World Series but rather the antenna-bearing thick-hardback-sized radios your parents took to the beach...

The Evoke Flow has access to plenty of content: Internet radio, terrestrial FM radio and audio streamed from your computer or server, but some people will want more in the form of Pandora and Last.fm and possibly AM radio. And when your world is filled...

Radio! Radio! Radio! : PURE Evoke Flow

We tend to forget that a radio is a wireless device. As such it could access the Internet and your computer's digital content.

The minimum system specifications for this product call for 0.5MB Broadband Internet access, 802.11 b/g wireless network running on a Mac, PC or NAS box with UPnP support. Browser support covers Internet Explorer 6, Firefox 3.0, Opera 9.5 and Safari...

Pure Evoke Flow

  by (fwd.five.tv) - Oct, 2008

The EVOKE Flow is a DAB/Internet radio that supports FM RDS and RadioText. With support for Wi-Fi and WMA, WAV, AAC, MP3, MP2 and Real Audio files, it has 30 DAB, and ten FM radio presets. Also it measures 175x210x110mm, has touch-sensitive controls...

Video is going to get a good kicking from this radio star, as it can handle almost every digital broadcast going. It’s got great DAB and FM tuners, or hook it up to your Wi-Fi network to unleash over 8000 online radio stations, including the good old...

Streamed radio shows don’t always sound fantastic, and the Flow’s 7W speaker is only average. Upping the sound quality with an optional speaker costs £40. However, there’s no adding buffer memory after you’ve bought the Flow, so get used to not being...

The only way to invite German tranceheads, Senegalese guitarists and Chinese opera singers to a knees-up in your kitchen without having a heck of a cleaning bill. Great radio, although not for audiophiles.

Pure Evoke Flow

Internet radios are nothing new, so Pure has had plenty of time to learn from the mistakes of its rivals. Namely, poorly-organised station lists and ugly cases

At 149, it's keenly priced, the piano black finish looks great, and the wooden case and high quality speaker work in tandem to deliver a satisfying, rich sound. In all, while not quite perfect, it remains highly recommended
