PNY GeForce 9800 GTX review

  by Robin Morris (pcadvisor.co.uk) - Apr, 2008

pcadvisor.co.uk

The PNY GeForce 9800 GTX is, in essence, a G92 graphics card with superior specifications

If you run your games at a resolution of 1,440x900 and don't feel the need to push the detail settings to their fullest, the PNY GeForce 9800 GTX is a very good card that can keep up (and sometimes even beat) the X2 or a couple of GTs in SLI formation....

PNY GeForce 9800 GTX

  by (pcmag.com)

By our count, Nvidia and its add-in board partners offer no less than five designs based around the company's G92 GPU: the 8800 GS, 8800 GT, 8800 GTS 512MB, 9800 GX2, and 9800 GTX—and that's not even counting memory variants. That's a lot of seemingly...

Overclocked performance at a lower price

Extended warranty requires product registration. No trade up program

It's still got a high end price, but isn't quite as fast as the BFG card, but still faster than stock cards.

Nvidia's GeForce 9800 GX2 graphics card

  by Scott Wasson (techreport.com) - Mar, 2008

techreport.com

I said just last week that GPUs are breeding like rabbits, and here we have another example of multi-GPU multiplication. The brand-spanking-new GeForce 9800 X2 combines a pair of G92 graphics processors onto one card for twice the goodness, like an...

The GeForce 9800 GX2 is an absolute powerhouse, the fastest graphics card you can buy today. Even Crysis is playable on the GX2 at 1920x1200 with high-quality settings. Although it is part of a clear trend toward high-end multi-GPU solutions, it is...

Nvidia GeForce 9800 GX2 1 Go

  by Régis Jehl (lesnumeriques.com) - May, 2008

On lui préfère...

Dossier: Nvidia GeForce 9800 GX2

  by Damien Triolet (hardware.fr) - Mar, 2008

hardware.fr

No idea - it wouldn't work with my computer

I couldn't use the graphic card - it wasn't compatible with my computer ; I got some microsoft updates thinking that might help the problem but the graphic card is so big I decided against trying to fit it into my computer again ; It was such a squeeze...

PNY 9800 GT 512MB PCI-E

  by Steve (reevoo.com) - Mar, 2009

reevoo.com

Amazing performance for the price. Very good extras in-box inc: D-socket adaptor, power cable, TV adaptor. Driver installation was very easy with the provided disk

Needs 400w power supply. Not an issue for most modern PC's but you need to know this before you buy. This card is extremely long and only just fits on my motherboard without blocking HDD inputs. This card (like all mid/high end cards) does produce a...

best video card for $100 or less

  by EZK (newegg.com) - Feb, 2011

newegg.com

4 months after buying I still can't believe what a deal I got here. I switched models 3 times in the month up to finding this deal, looking for an upgrade that was inexpensive but still a vast improvement over my HD3450 in hybrid crossfire with my 785g...

runs on the generic 300w power supply that came with my case, even with my 2 hard drives and 2 dvd writers ; no extra connectors to attach ; performance beats most cards that are twice as expensive ; again, extremely high bandwidth for a budget card:...

no direct x 11 or 10.1 ; video (mpeg, avi) acceleration is weak compared to ATI cards ; very limited 90 day warranty

Just Started This Build

  by duffey (newegg.com) - Nov, 2010

newegg.com

Really recommend it if you're running a computer that doesn't have the beefiest PSU or aren't looking for an expensive video card.

I've had this card for a little over two weeks now and so far it's performed really really well. I was on the lookout for sort of a cheaper GPU as my PSU isn't the greatest (350W) and my previous video card's fan decided to just... die. Really kind of...

Get the 250

  by Whrem (newegg.com) - Oct, 2010

newegg.com

Bought this for a lower end system, haven't gotten it yet wish I had gotten the 250. I will update this once I have used the card.

Good graphics card 1gb of RAM

Doesn't have the speeds as the XFX 250 that is currently 10/17/2010 selling for 12$ more, not to mention the 250 has a double lifetime warranty and this only has 90 days

old school

  by ml (newegg.com) - Oct, 2010

newegg.com

for $70 you can still get good gaming and if you want a single slot card this is the cheapest nvidia solution i could find that isnt a gt240.

price is decent, the only thing that i can tell with the recertified is that the fans on these were bad, the card runs really cool, got this because the gts 450 i had ran way too hot. doesnt need to powered by plug in. single slot

this is an old school card and it is actually an 8800gt it has the 65nm gpu, so performance is a little to be desired, i wonder moving forward for gaming will the dx 10 suffer somewhat in newer games

PNY VCG951024GXEB GeForce 9500 GT 1GB 128-bit DDR2 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support Video Card

  by N/A (newegg.com) - Jul, 2010

newegg.com

I bought this card back in like January in a local store. Went with a 1 GB card because it was the same price as the 512 cards in the store.

This card is fairly decent. Haven't had an issue with the fan, even then, my air intake is something like a 70-80CMF fan, so i wouldn't hear it anyways. It plays every game i throw just fine. Not high end gaming, but decent enough ; I have had no...

9500 isn't a 480, but theres gonna be a slight performance difference between a $70 card and a $500 card
