  by Maul9999 (newegg.com) - Feb, 2011

This is really great video card for cheap workstation who aren't heavy graphic user. It will fix any small desktop that's Express X1

It wouldn't play video that smooth, you will see a line on different color in video motion

Waste of money

  by N/A (newegg.com) - Dec, 2010

newegg.com

I'm just and average guy and like to try new things. I'm not a gamer so I didn't go out and buy a gaming video card. I but together a computer (AMD 1090, Gigabyt 890 MB, GSkill Memory) and it scored 7.5 on the prefomance test until it came to the...

It supplies a picture to my monitor

Excellent image quality

  by N/A (newegg.com) - Sep, 2009

newegg.com

2d quality rivals older Matrox cards, and that is saying something. This is a card that you can stare at all day. For those wanting gaming performance, look elsewhere, even though this does some 3d and DirectX 10. When used as intended (ours is in a...

Excellent 2d. Very compatible - doesn't cause problems. Low power consumption and thermal output. Does Windows Aero very competently

Slightly overpriced for what it is (NVS 290), but it's business workstation class

Entry-level professional card.

Works as advertised

Leaves incomplete window renderings on my machine. This does not have to be the card, it could be some misconfiguration

Low-Watt High-Power 2D Rig

  by bitRAKE (newegg.com) - Oct, 2008

newegg.com

Wish PNY would produce a NVS295 card as the NVS440 is too expensive, imho. seems Dell sells NVS295's on some of their systems.

21 Watts is a perfect complement for my X7DCA-L with two L5410; and the low profile allows me to create a very small enclosure. Assuming no increase in the cost for electricity () I'll be saving move than it cost me for this computer

( none - it does the 2D job well. I have played UT on it at satisfying performance levels. so, it can do accelerated 3D like a 2007 card - it's a G86. )

Works silently and flawlessly

  by N/A (newegg.com) - Sep, 2008

newegg.com

Plugged it in, installed the closed-source Linux drivers, and it "just worked". It detected the resolutions of both LCD panels and drives them perfectly at their native 1600x1200 resolutions.

Drives dual DVI LCDs at 1600x1200 without a problem ; Low power ; Fanless

Surprise! Outstanding performer

  by Celery Stick (newegg.com) - Jul, 2008

newegg.com

Not created as a gaming card but it is respectable as one. Even though the memory is only 64-bit GDDR2 it still performs nicely. Silent operation! Only uses 21 Watts! Supports high resolutions crystal clear. Nothing can touch the picture quality.

I installed this card on my wife's PC that has a Core 2 Duo E6600, ECS NF650iSLIT-A. I was thinking it would provide a crisp picture for her photo editing software and it did. Then I ran Battlefield 2 and Quake Wars "oh my gosh!" BF2 (1024x768 high...

Solid Card

  by Demetrius (newegg.com) - Jul, 2008

newegg.com

Just a random note: If using Windows XP, and you want a slick 5120x1024 desktop background to span evenly across all your monitors, set your background mode to Tile, and set the left-most monitor as your Primary monitor. The image will then fit like a...

The card is a PCI Express 1x, so it will fit if you already have a card taking up your 16x slot already as in my case. I have a Dell Precision 390 that uses the 16x Version of this card, so this card is a perfect pair for it (one set of drivers...

I have noticed that sometimes (not sure what triggers it yet) when switching to certain applications that I use, I get a weird window flickering on the two new monitors that I've attached. It doesn't happen very often, but I thought I would mention it

Video for Dell SVR

  by BGan (newegg.com) - Jul, 2008

newegg.com

Wish there was X8 Video, since there is only one X1 expansion slot.

2008 Server has only VGA onboared video. However, had no problem setting this PNY video card up. Recognized my Veiwsonic VG2230wm 1680 x 1050 automatically which hasn't always been with other Windows OS, especially with the 64-bit OSs ; This Dell T105...
