Good Wi-Fi speed; excellent range; keyword filtering works well

Wireless speed was sometimes unreliable, requiring a restart; LEDs are too bright

Netgear Wireless-N Router WNR2000

The Netgear Wireless-N Router WNR2000 is a good fit for those who just need a simple wireless network and the ability to control access to the internet.

Decent throughput speeds ; Excellent range ; Easy to use at an affordable price ; Comes with a free, comprehensive Parental Control feature

No dual-band, gigabit, USB or Guest wireless features ; Web interface is sluggish at times ; Parental Control requires software installed on the computer to allow exceptions

The WNR2000's web interface, though intuitive, is sluggish at times without any apparent reason. Sometimes we had to restart the router to be able to log in again, though other functions of the router were working fine. We hope that this will be fixed...

Netgear WNR2000

  by Michael Brown (maximumpc.com) - Jan, 2010

maximumpc.com

Usable long-range connection; Live Parental Controls at no additional cost

Anemic TCP throughput; slower than comparable routers from a distance of 38 feet

Netgear’s router was barely faster than the Linksys at close range, delivering anemic TCP throughput of just 47.1Mb/s, compared to the WRT120N’s equally paltry 45.4Mb/s. But the WNR2000 was slower than the rest of the field with the client on the patio...

Netgear WNR 2000 Wireless-N 300 Router

  by Space (tweakup.dk) - Feb, 2009

tweakup.dk

Netgear RangeMax Wireless-N 300 Router

  by Space (tweakup.dk) - Feb, 2009

As A Repeater - Don't Reccomend

As a long time Netgear user I bought a WNR2000 to use as a repeater for my DGN2000 After a day of effort - IT DIDN'T WORK Netgear support then got involved and eventually (2.5 days of my effort later) THEY REPLACED with a WN802 which does work BUT...

Not as good as Netgear WGR614UK

My Netgear WGR614UK packed up after nearly over 5 years of service, being on constantly for that period. So I purchased this Netgear, thinking I would have a better product with a stronger signal. Signal strenght has not improved and this model is not...

£32 paper weight

At first this router worked albeit with speeds fluctuating from 54Mbps to 270Mbps every other second or so. Moving the router and Netgear WN311B RangeMax adapter didn't resolve this issue. The following months shed more and more light on the apparent...

Excellent

I bought this to replace an earlier Netgear model which wasn't N rated. Anyway, set up is simple, with full guided instructions. The primary PC is wired, and as such, enjoys the maximum speed. Two other laptops connect to this wireless, and to date,...

Avoid at all costs

Avoid at all costs

For the first few weeks it was great, good speeds and stable wireless connections. 6 months on and it's a different story. The router drops wireless connections constantly, and I've tried various systems to make sure it's the router at fault. It locks...

As with many reviewers here, I got this for use with cable broadband. On that front, it works as expected, with the bonus of easy VPN passthrough configurations. I am able to connect to the office via pptp without problem after enabling the...

Good at first, then useless!

  by V. Rice (amazon.co.uk) - Jan, 2010

Good at first, then useless!

Worked great for a about six months, now the bloody thing drops in and out when it feels like it! The laptop shows full signal strength, but no connection! When it does behave, rotating the laptop a few degrees is sufficient to loose the signal again!...

Not recommended at all...

Like many of the other reviewers, I have found the range on this router to be terrible. I live in a small 2 bedroom flat with thin walls and the signal still can't reach round all of the property. Where I mainly use the laptop to connect (approx 6-7...
