Netgear FWG114P

  by Roger Gann (techworld.com) - Jan, 2004

techworld.com

This very cheap, tiny box has just about every essential network infrastructure feature necessary for a small SME office, including a well put-together Wi-Fi side. Techworld Recommended.

The FWG114P is definitely one for the shortlist if you're setting up a small network or a branch office. Barring an ADSL modem, it has just about every essential network infrastructure feature you could want. Its Wi-Fi side is well executed, too, and...

Netgear ProSafe 802.11n Dual-Band Wireless Access Point WNDAP350

  by (pcmag.com)

Excellent performance. Easy set up. Has significant enterprise features. Won't overwhelm a small business user. Superb tech support

Can't upgrade firmware directly through interface. Slight performance loss as wireless client moves further away at the 2.4-GHz band. User guide does not outline full factory reset options

I just purchased the Netgear FWG114 and am very disappointed. I assumed that the printserver would be compatible with all USB-printers. Unfortunately it does not work with my Kyocera printer. It is also not suited for p2p-software like emule or...

Nice unit, does have some faults thou!

I bought the WG102 instead of the WG602 as I was told that the Wireless Super G was more stable and that the IP configuration via the GUI would be alot easier, the GUI is probably the best I have used and once updated to the firmware recomended by...

Brilliant Product!

Yes I ordered this product without looking at the spec in as much depth as i should have, as i worried for a few days about the "Localization: German / Germany" part. I believe this is a misprint, as nothing regarding my product was german, including...

- no PPPoA support

- no PPPoA support

This is a great router, but in the UK, it seems BT only support PPPoA and this leaves you on a loser. In Ireland, its fine as PPPoE is supported.

Don't buy this if you want PPTP passthru from the Internet to the LAN!

Having initially been quite impressed with the router, it has a complete showstopper which is not evident from reading the documentation, and was only found by experience.

Netgear does it again (and that ain't good)

  by goobysnack (cnet.com) - Feb, 2010

cnet.com

This VPN appliance/firewall is simply substandard. It was impossible to setup a VPN successfully, and the blurp on the item description makes one believe that a client license and software is included in purchase. It would not peer with the Green Bow...

Easy to configure firewall and gateway options

VPN. The wizard doesn't work. After manual setup, Greenbow VPN client won't work. Won't do L2TP nor PPTP. So, Prosafe client ($40) is your only option

FVG318, no relation to the solid FVS318!!

  by mcg3000 (cnet.com) - Feb, 2010

cnet.com

If you think the FVG318 is the FVS318 but with Wifi - think again. They only seem to share the numbers and a blue outer case. The FVG318 is RUBBISH. Even the web interface is the outdated one and will not be updated. I have also been told by Netgear...

Good paper weight. Heavy. Stops wasted hours surfing due to frequent non functioning periods (trying to be positive)

Buggy firmware - Constant Lockups - Hard Resets ; Dated Web UI, which will not be updated due to EOL status of product
