Iomega Thursday launched its latest network attached storage unit, the StorCenter ix2-200. Small business owners will want to pay particular attention to this exciting, versatile, energy efficient, and feature rich storage device.
Though its features are high end, Iomega has paid special attention to the unit's interface. The press materials boast that the unit can be set up in four simple steps and the interface is capable of many high-end functions while still being...

Designed for personal use, the compact Iomega Network Hard Drive offers simple setup, backup utilities and the ability to connect directly to PCs via ...
Easy to install and use
Lacks security features, poor performance
Though it's slim on security features and none too quick, this portable drive can connect to your network or directly to your PC.

The Iomega Storcenter Pro 150d is an appreciably large NAS server targeted for small- or home office use. Above-average performance and considerable storage space make this device a great solution for data archiving and backing up PCs in your office....
The Iomega StorCenter Pro 150d network-attached storage drive has a generous capacity; a built-in print server; Gigabit Ethernet; four USB ports for printers or hard drives; backup software included; capable of RAID 0+1 and RAID 5; hot-swappable drive;...
No media server features
The Iomega StorCenter Pro 150d is a network-attached storage drive squarely targeted at the small- and home office user. With Gigabit Ethernet, USB port, and generous capacity for a fair price, this NAS drive should satisfy those users.

einfache Installation ; umfangreiches Software-Paket

Do not buy
We've had no end of problems with this drive. The first one (which we sent back), and its replacement disconnect from our network intermittently and crash. The time consuming support process has taken so long that Iomega won't refund the unit and...

Good value for money ...but
For the price you can't expect miracles but the design of the system has a flaw in it. The OS for the box resides on one of the disks, so if it fails then you are stuck. Back to IOMEGA to have it restored. I think for a system like this to be truly...

Great little device (if a little noisy)
What a great addition to my home network. I used to have an old PC running in the spare room. This was bulky and noisy and required screen, keyboard, mouse etc . . . for maintenance reasons. This box discards the need for all this gear. Now it sits...

This is well designed in terms of looks to go with your Mac. Installation was easy and is backed up via Time Machine to function in the background. It's nice peace of mind
I found it a bit on the noisy side - not as bad as some drives I have owned, not the best either

Quick to replace the drives or the units
Known firmware issues with no fixes. Lost a total of 2+ Terabytes of data when drives failed using raid 5. No help in data recovering and no explanation for drive failures an only remedy is to replace the drive or the unit

Buggy, BUGGY firmware/OS. The OS is embedded on and written to the SATA disks and is not reinstallable. I had the same issues as other users of this unit - the unit would completely freeze up and become unresponsive. The only way to reset the unit is...
Who wouldn't want all of the features promised by this Iomega product? In theory, it would be a great unit
Be advised, Iomega will quickly admit their firmware/OS is causing the problem and will send you a new box, but they will do nothing to help you get your production data off the unit as a result of their defective product

I recommend this one for all those who want trouble free hard drives. Its large capacity and easy to use feature is a huge plus. I transferred all my important files easily and there is still plenty of room. I can schedule for taking back-up and I am...
Compact, user-friendly
Never faced any problems

Worked well for about 6 months, then started to get intermittent crashes then it died. Iomega support sent a new powercord as their only fix. Now they want $800 to retrieve the data or will try to fix for $250 and if unsuccessful can retrieve the data...
High speed access, sturdy metal case, really feels like a well built product
Mediocre setup instructions, poor customer support
